About Us
HistoryThe Bay Area Personal Watercraft Association, or BAPWA, was formed in 1991 by a group of five Jet Ski enthusiasts in Texas City. Since then, its membership has grown to almost 100 members making it the largest personal watercraft club in the nation according to the American Watercraft Association (AWA). PurposeBAPWA's primary purpose is to promote water safety and to give Jet Ski owners an opportunity to have family fun with coordinated and planned rides. These rides are scheduled from April to October with an End-of-the-Year Party recognizing the Rider of the Year along with other awards and prizes. BAPWA also encourages and promotes the image and awareness of the personal watercraft by educating safe, considerate and courteous use of personal watercrafts. Moreover, we strive to follow government rules and regulations pertinent to the watercraft as may be lawfully enacted by recognized customs and etiquette. Finally, we carry on and encourage our members to render civic service as it may from time to time be determined or be elected.
